By Jacqueline Corbett
Each person who encounters the Raw and Living Foods Lifestyle and experiences the profound changes this lifestyle makes in their life wants to find ways to tell others about their happy secret.
In fact, you're probably feeling and looking so good that you're going to want to argue all of your friends and family into joining you in your diet and try to convert those closest to you. But this is not the best way to share what you're doing.
The best thing you can possibly do to promote the raw and living food lifestyle to those closest to you is to simply go about your raw and living food lifestyle without making a big deal about it.
As you become healthier and stronger and more full of energy, you become the best kind of promotion for the living foods lifestyle. Everyone is naturally going to want to know what you're doing. Let them do the asking. And I assure you, they will.
It's very benefcial to promote the raw and living food lifestyle to those people you don’t know, people who could benefit from knowing about the diet and lifestyle and who are ready to hear about.
Remember, you don't have to be a perfect 100% raw foodist to begin sharing with others. Wherever you are is perfect, and there's magic in beginning!
1. Keep a journal of your journey with raw foods and find a way to share this journal with others. For suggestions, look at our Journals page.
2. Take before and after pictures and publish them. We have a Before and After Pictures page for that purpose, and it also lists links to other sites that publish before and after pictures. Send us your photos, your story, and/or a link to your page so that we can share them with others.
3. Start a potluck or support group in your area. This could be a raw foods potluck or a group that gets together to talk about healthy living or a book club or a number of other formats. Take a look at our local events page and click on the various links to see how others are doing this. And we’d love to walk you through the process of starting a group. We have contact info on the local event page so that you can get in touch with us. And be sure to let us know about your potluck so we can publish it on our page.
4. Start a raw and living foods website for your area. You can start small with free hosting. Andrew uses a free blog for a website. It’s really easy to use and edit. Then as soon as you can, get your own domain. Offer news about any support groups, restaurants, potlucks, festivals, seminars, food preparation classes, etc. in your area. Create a big links page to other raw and living foods websites. Having a community raw foods website with a domain helps establish raw foods as a viable presence in the area. Make sure you drop us a note so that we can link to you.
5. Get information about your support group or your potlucks or your success story into your local newspapers. Let the world know about your living and raw foods events and seminars. Just write a simple press release and let them know what's happening on a frequent basis.
