Recipes for Natural Beauty: 100 Homemade Treatments for Natural Beauty by Katie Spiers Ingredients such as avocados, cucumbers, lemons, honey, and oatmeal give women absolute control over what they use on their bodies.
"Fabulous when I can find the ingredients. The recipes for which I was able to find the ingredients: lotion, nail care cream, exfoliator were absolutely supreme--wonderful for my very dry skin. Some of the recipes call for tinctures and flowers which I couldn't find in my local health food store. It would have been helpful if the book had given Internet or mail-order sources for some of the ingredients. Instead, the recipes say to use the ingredient if you can find it--not much help--and they don't say what to do it you can't. But given my success with what I have so far I will continue to search out other ingredients. Reviewed by "a reader from Minneapolis, MN" |

Natural Facelift by Juliette Kando "The best! My best friend gave me Juliette Kando's NATURAL FACELIFT for my birthday saying it had helped her and I should try it. I had noticed that she had been looking fresher and younger lately and now she told me how she had done it. 'You just read the book and get into doing the exercise' she said so I did. That was three weeks ago and I have never looked back. The thing that worried me most was that I was beginning to get bags under my eyes. I looked up the exercises for it and they really work. My eyes are more open as well now. I also had deep neck wrinkles and they have all gone now. Brilliant! The exercises are easy to follow and the author encourages you all the way. Well, with the excellent results, you just don't want to stop. People have been complementing me, asking me if I'm in love or if I've been on holiday because I look so much more happy and relaxed and, yes, younger. I want to strongly recommend this book to anyone who is worried about losing their looks. It also lifts your morale because the practice works on a psychological level as the author says and I find that to be very true. Doing Juliette Kando's facial exercises is much better (and cheaper) than going for cosmetic surgery which, like Kando says, only damages your skin. So hurry, go and buy the NATURAL FACELIFT by Juliette Kando and enjoy, it really is a brilliant book." Reviewed by zsuzsa kartash from Malaga, SPAIN |

Timeless Face: Thirty Days to a Younger You Through Face Reading, Acupressure, and Toning by Ellae Elinwood "I purchased this book and held onto it for at least a year, always telling myself I'd start it "tomorrow." One day I was looking in the mirror and said, "That's it! I'm going to start today!" I did, and now my only regret is not beginning the program sooner! One thing that I was not expecting is to have changes occur in my personality due to these wonderful and simple facial exercises. I stopped procrastinating, my life became more filled with promise, and I have felt so much more alive. Not to mention it has done some very interesting and positive things to my sexual desires :) And for those of you that work out your body...you know how you feel after a workout...full of energy and high on life? That's how you feel after doing facial exercises, only BETTER because the face is so interconnected to your personality. wow! what a treat! I HIGHLY recommend this book. Thanks Ellae for sharing your incredibly ingenius exercises with the rest of us!!" Reviewed byPatty from Reno, NV |

Facercise: The Dynamic Muscle-Toning Program for Renewed Vitality and a More Youthful Appearance by Carole Maggio "Small investment for fabulous results! I just love Carole Maggio's Facercise program. I've been using her technique for over a year now and have had such great success! I'm 49 years old and have been told I look much, much younger! Since I am back out in the dating scene again after my 22-year marriage ended, this really makes me feel great! I now have the confidence I need to go forward and try and make a new life for myself. I have 2 grown children who think I look like a new woman and they are encouraging me to continue with this program and hopefully, meet someone new! Thanks Carole for a great program....I am really looking forward to seeing your new book published in the Summer! PS I love Carole's sunscreen which feels so light on the skin and offers great protection, (which we all know is something crucial in the fight to stay young looking!)" Facelift at Your Fingertips: An Aromatherapy Massage Program for Healthy Skin and a Younger Face by Pierre Jean Cousin "Happy Skin. The pictures and format are vibrant and beautiful as well as clear and concise, which is huge bonus to any "how to" manual. There's a great overview of aromatherapy. I found the synopsis of the oils and how they will benefit your skin type to be very interesting and helpful, although, a few of the products have not been easy to find (but there's a list of contacts and mail order in the index). The exercises were easy to follow and gentle, with full color pic's and text explanation. The oils and exercices are soothing. I also found the full color poster of the exercises(included), to be helpful during travel. I've been on the daily program for 2 weeks now and I already feel a difference in the overall tone of my face. I like the way this book promotes a healthy alternative to preserving and resurecting younger skin. It's also a good read if you're interested in learning some fascinating basics about oils & aromatherapy. Aesthetically, I love this book. Great combination of instructional pic's and informative advice." Reviewed by Dana from Seattle |

Four Seasons of Inner and Outer Beauty: Rituals and Recipes for Well-Being Throughout the Year by Peggy Wynne Borgman "Incredible Resource. This book is filled with information about health, beauty and making the most of our surroundings. Ms. Borgman's book teaches and reminds the reader of the importance of acknowledging seasons, emotions and ritual in our increasingly fast-paced lives. She addresses the fly by night, disposable attitude of modern life and the empty feeling with which we're left. The book fuses eastern methodologies with western life and encourages readers to create peace and embrace the change of the natural world. I highly recommend this book, for holisitic health remedies, spa treatments you can create in your home, and help getting a grasp on the things in life that matter." The Skin Care Book: Simple Herbal Recipes by Kathlyn Quatrochi "Herbs have been used for thousands of years, but for the latter half of this century it seemed that knowledge of herbal remedies would be replaced by chemical technology. However, the recent resurgence of interest in natural alternatives has dispelled the fear that the future is in plastics, and more people are turning to nature for medicine, stress relief, and beauty care. Although The Skin Care Book is an outgrowth of this trend, it betters its competitors by being concise, well-written, informative, and attractive. The author is a Doctor of Naturopathy and a Master Herbalist who has been in the field for 25 years, and it shows in her work. Chapters include simple explanations of how herbs work and how they've been used throughout history, how your skin functions, and suggestions for an exceedingly easy skin care regime. The recipes are basic, each including only a few ingredients that can be easily obtained at your local grocery store. Besides skin cleansers and toners, Quatrochi also includes hair rinses and bath bags, for a beauty experience that rivals Cleopatra's famous milk baths. If you've grown tired of the expense and dubious ingredients of cosmetics and commercial cleansers, this little book should perk you, and your skin, right up." Reviewed by

Neal's Yard Remedies Make Your Own Cosmetics by Susan Curtis "Fantastic!! Lots of bang for the buck. Probably the best kept secret on homemade personal care products. This one is infinitely better than more expensive books I've seen. Comprehensive information, beautifully presented. Nothing trendy or trivial. Loads of easy, laboratory-tested recipes and great color photos. Very clear, step-by-step instructions on making deluxe vegetable-based cosmetics for five different skin types. Among the many topics covered: Skin, body and hair care, natural hair dyes, several types of liquid, cream and lotion bases, herbal preparations, use of essential oils, fragrancing, perfumes, toothpastes, mouthwashes and general health issues. An excellent glossary of herbs and cosmetic ingredients is included. London-based Neal's Yard Remedies deserves the loyalty of their international clientele. I wish the U.S. had a few of their wonderful shops. While you're at it, "The Bath and Body Book" by Stephanie Donaldson is a perfect companion volume. Beyond gorgeous and reasonably priced. Superb information on homemade skin care products and inexpensive ways to create some of the most luxurious bathrooms imagi nable. Breathtaking color photos...."
